fuckyeahlgbt:transpride:fuckyeahftms:ihaskidgloves: the loss in Maine today was a big let down for LGBT rights, especially since so many activists thought it would pass. As a transman who cannot currently legally marry (to marry you need a copy of your birth certificate, in my state of birth the only way to change the legal sex on your birth certificate is after you’ve had a hysterectomy and bottom surgery, which I cannot currently receive due to financial constraints) I know firsthand that it is not only lesbians and gays who are impacted by marriage inequality, transpeople are too. Marriage inequality impacts ALL queer people. Despite this set back we need to keep working as a community towards achieving the rights we deserve.
