S that say you're a lady in the streets, freak in the sheets
Found the internet! Posted by 5 years ago. What's this "Lady in the streets, freak in the sheets" thing?
The "originalish" phrase was "A woman should be a Lady in the living room, a Cook in the kitchen, and a whore in the bedroom" It's been repeated over the years a lot of different ways and I can't find a reference to the actual original origin. More posts from the OutOfTheLoop community. I think the meaning is obvious, but the origin is unknown to me.
I don't know if the phrase predates the song, but that's where I first heard it. Then give you a eighty dollar gift certificate to Pussies 'R Us. I have no idea the original origin of the phrase, as I've heard it used for decades now. I've heard it said a few different ways: A woman should be A Lady in Public and a Whore in the bedroom A Lady on the street and a hooker in the bedroom this was what my grandfather used to say.
I know the phrase is in Ludacris' verse in the song Yeah! I keep seeing it around reddit, but I don't know where it comes from.
I was hearing it used during the 90s, so it predates that song, but that was likely instrumental in it spreading so much in popular culture. Sort by: best.
Yep, that's a thing.
